The roots of Oak Cliff Crêperie go far beyond North Texas to the pastoral countryside of Burgundy, France where we spent our childhood. Our approach to food was instilled in us by our grandmother and great-grandmother, who passed their culinary skills on to us not through lessons, but simply by assigning us with “KP (Kitchen Preparation) Duty” at a very young age. We feel so fortunate to have lived in this beautiful corner of the world—Charolais cattle and wine country—with its abundance of fresh local ingredients and a tradition of simple, delicious cooking. Many of our menu items are directly inspired by the favorite crêpes of our extended family in France.
When we returned to the states, we settled back in a totally different kind of cattle country—Texas, where six generations of our family have called home. We continued to keep our French heritage alive through our personal and professional pursuits: both as key players in the French business and cultural associations of Texas—and for Jeanne-Marie—as a high school French teacher. Over the years, as Oak Cliff grew to become more vibrant and committed to bringing festivities and life back to our streets, we really connected with the creativity and energy of our community. We wanted to bring our own unique flavor to the movement! Through a series of very fortunate family-related events, an Oak Cliff festival—Bastille on Bishop—became our first ‘official’ entrée into selling crêpes, the perfect street food. The response was so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to take our idea to the next level. Since then, with the efforts of our entire family and the support of our wonderful friends and loyal crêpe lovers, we’ve grown to become a full-fledged food truck and catering purveyor.
While we are not a brick and mortar establishment, we are deeply grounded in our Oak Cliff neighborhood. Along with classic and favorite French products, we strive to use locally grown and seasonal ingredients to create our savory and sweet dishes. Our menus feature low-gluten and gluten-free flours. We have some great favorites, or you can create your own crêpe concept! Just tell us what you like and we will make it. We are committed to serving fine food with a fun and community-focused approach.
